Changelog

What shipped, when. The blog covers the why.

fix July 29, 2026

Media detail opens centered over the app

Opening an image in About my business → Media library now shows a properly centered dialog over the full app (sidebar included), with a friendly title instead of a raw role key like other.

Composio OAuth broker

Waveguide now uses Composio for brokered OAuth instead of Nango. Connect still starts from Connections, Onboarding, or Tools; after you authorize, the dashboard syncs and activates the account. Provider access tokens stay at Composio — we never store them in the vault.

What you need to do: if a connection shows Reconnect, open Connect again for that provider (one-time cutover). Slack, Telegram, social (Ayrshare), and Twilio are unchanged.

Ask streams: Inbox + per-job chats

Ask is no longer one shared thread for every goal, answer, and scheduled check.

Inbox

  • Needs you (approvals), Suggested (opportunities), and Updates (schedules, digests, events) live on Ask home
  • Long updates show a two-line preview with Show more to read the full digest (markdown rendered)
  • Start job from an Inbox item opens a dedicated job chat
  • Ambient briefs stay out of your chat history

Chats

  • One chat per job and per free-form Ask
  • Open from the Chats list or Open chat on a Job
  • Slack thread replies continue the same ask chat

Compat

  • GET /ask-thread without conversation_id returns an empty migrated payload; use /conversations and /inbox

Live thinking: one step at a time

The What it’s doing panel on Jobs (and live Runs) no longer dumps the full agent narrative as a wall of text.

  • While your agent is working, you see only the latest step, with a spinner
  • Expand via Show steps for the full step list and tool Steps
  • When a run finishes, What it did stays collapsed but still shows a latest-step peek (and Show steps) so the plan isn’t hidden behind a bare caret
  • Job pages always surface a Plan card — structured brief/graph when available, otherwise a pointer to the activity write-up
  • Autonomy and job shape sit in a single compact controls bar under the title (not two tall cards)
  • Task graph rows link to Open run when a session exists for that task
  • Cumulative stream snapshots are coalesced so the same paragraph isn’t repeated over and over

Scheduling: native booker, Calendly, and SDR voice → Meet

Waveguide can book meetings three ways — and agents use one Scheduling Service for all of them.

Public booking

  • Native Waveguide booker at /book/{your-slug} (Google Calendar + your SOUL windows)
  • Or redirect to Calendly when that’s your mode
  • Or share an external booking link only

Connect Calendly

  • OAuth beside Google Calendar; pick an event type on About my business
  • Invitee webhooks sync leads and cancellations when your Calendly plan allows it

Agent + SDR

  • Tools scheduling_list_slots, scheduling_book, scheduling_share_link
  • Mission template SDR: voice → book → Meet with the sdr-booker skill

Complex Mission Jobs

Complex Asks no longer collapse into hollow outreach briefs. Waveguide classifies each mission’s job kind, then routes planning:

  • outreach — classic brief + research/outreach loop
  • campaign / implement / analyze / hybrid — Mission Graph only (prefer_job_graph if a brief is proposed)
  • implement / hybrid — design → build (code_bundle) → wire → verify, with optional continuous ops via mission_schedule
  • Dashboard shows the inferred kind on Ask and lets you pin kind on the job page
  • Deliverables can download code_bundle archives (gzip) and show the entrypoint

The operator release: money, phones, and playbooks

Waveguide now works the two front doors of a small business — the phone and the money — and ships playbooks so a first mission starts from something proven, not a blank box.

Get paid

  • Stripe actions on your own account: chase overdue invoices, retry failed payments, send payment links, pause (instead of losing) subscriptions
  • Chargeback defense: a new dispute wakes the agent, which assembles the evidence and drafts the response in Stripe before the deadline
  • Refunds and credits are always yours to approve — money never leaves your account without you

Answer every call

  • AI receptionist: provision a phone number with a persona for your business; every call becomes a captured lead, a booked slot, and a confirmation text
  • Call mining: transcripts are checked for the quote request nobody logged and the callback nobody calendared
  • Caller speech is treated as untrusted input end to end — quarantined before it can influence any action

New tools in the catalog

  • Dropbox Sign (e-signatures), Google Business Profile (reviews, hours, posts), QuickBooks Online (AR aging, invoices), and Jobber (field-service jobs and quotes)
  • Connected tools now wake the agent: vendor webhooks fire instantly, and push-less signals (like new Google reviews) are polled with delta detection
  • Free weather signals for schedule-aware playbooks — the reschedule texts go out two days before the storm

Playbooks

  • One-click mission templates matched to your industry: fill an open shift, speed-to-lead, no-show recovery, maintenance dispatch, review generation, invoice chasing, and more

Safety

  • Every executed action now records its undo path in the activity feed — or says honestly that there isn’t one
launch July 1, 2026

Waveguide launch

The first public release of Waveguide — the agent runtime for your growth loop.

The agent

  • Always-on agent per tenant, running in an isolated sandbox with default-deny networking
  • Wakes on real signals: lead arrivals, email replies, calendar changes, campaign webhooks, scheduled digests
  • Multi-model routing: fast model for triage and digests, flagship model for real work, heavyweight escalation on Growth and Scale
  • Customizable persona (SOUL.md) seeded from your onboarding answers

Connections and channels

  • Gmail, Google Calendar, Meta Ads, and Stripe connections — one OAuth click each, tokens vaulted
  • Slack, Telegram, and email as reporting and approval channels
  • Tools via MCP: curated catalog (Apollo, Hunter, Instantly, Mailchimp, wavetable) plus any MCP server by URL, with risk classification and tool-poisoning scans; Firecrawl research scrape is platform-included and metered
  • Social accounts (X, Instagram, LinkedIn, …) connect under Connections via the platform social backend (Ayrshare) — not as a Tools API-key card

Missions

  • Goal-driven outreach: state a goal, approve the mission brief, watch the funnel
  • Four autonomy levels, per-mission budgets, dry-run mode
  • Email, social, voice (with consent gates and AI disclosure), and Google Meet attendance
  • Suppression lists, jurisdiction rules, and cross-mission frequency caps

Safety

  • T0–T3 risk tiers enforced in the egress proxy; T3 always requires a human
  • Quarantine for untrusted content with taint tracking into approvals
  • Anomaly auto-pause, the 80/100/120 budget ladder, and the kill switch
  • Full audit trail with one-click export; self-serve tenant deletion

Billing

  • Self-serve signup with $5 free AI credits (no card); paid plans with optional 14-day trial
  • Metered AI usage with live spend visibility and automatic guardrails
